Artist Quote: The Swans at Yarmouth Grist Mill, Cape Cod, were observed nesting, watched periodically, photographed and observed as they were born and interacted with their parents on an ongoing basis until all but two left the pond completely. In this particular painting the Swans are seen keeping a keen eye. The painting is executed in a fashion that is really the subject of the light, the play of distortion and colors of blues, black, browns, greens, grays and whites. All is a matter of reflection and diffusing the subjects just enough to highlight the shapes that each reflection takes on. This is a beautiful intriguing painting which captivates the eye, reflects the peace in the subject matter and shows the reality of ever being on guard. We can learn a lot from nature.
